Kristin was born August 20, 1969 in Richmond Hill, Ontario. She grew up in the Thornhill area of York Region, spending most of her summers in Muskoka. She graduated from the University of Toronto Fine Arts program in 1992. In 1995, Kristin moved to Australia where she has continued to study and produce her artworks. Since then, she has returned to Canada to visit family and friends and to promote her art. Kristin's belief and understanding of the universality of the human experiences and mythologies strongly influence her compositions. Her works are textured with acrylics, encaustics, oils, pastels, pen and ink, and other mediums with collage to express mood and movement. Colour plays a large role to further increase the impact of emotion and mood for each painting. Kristin's art is in private collections in Canada, the United States and Australia.

"In my work, I specialize in mixed media and collage. During the beginning years of my art study, I focussed on the sculptural side of my art, using relief to give my images more richness and depth. Recently, I have been developing a different and more technical technique. The increased use of encaustic (wax) and collage with heavier materials (foundry) has given my work richer colours and greater depth. My figurative drawings show increased emotion, which draws the viewer into the artwork. I now draw upon what I first loved in painting and add techniques that I have learned and fought with over the years to create work that I am proud of."
