Born in Orillia in 1944, Prudence moved to Oakville ten years later. She obtained her B.A. at University of Toronto, followed by a Diploma in Child Study and employment at the Hospital for Sick Children.

Returning to Orillia in 1975, Prue pursued a variety of interests and occupations until a 1988 visit to the Haliburton School of Fine Art rekindled a childhood fascination for paint and paper. Additional watercolour courses helped to further unlock her creative spirit. For the most part however, her unique style has evolved along a journey of self-discovery.

Prudence has exhibited in Barrie, Collingwood, Kleinburg, Orillia, Toronto and Windsor. Her colourful paintings are in private collections in Canada, France and the U.S.A.

One of the founding members of Zephyr, an Orillia gallery for working artists, Prudence is also represented by Burlington Art Centre, The Framing Place and Gallery in Huntsville and Perivale Gallery in Spring Bay, Manitoulin Island.

"Watercolour seduces my spirit as its pigment saturates the paper. Colour, design and an element of whimsy all play a part in my work. I invite you to delight in the interaction of fundamental shapes creating their own rhythm."
