Robert has always found a way to express his love for the natural world through his art. From spruce bog to canoe portage, he can often be found observing and sketching the Muskoka back country.

Robert's work is defined by its pointillist style. Pointillism is the creation of an image through the application of tiny dots. An image can take anywhere from one month to two years to complete. Pen and ink illustrations of wildlife are printed as black and white offset lithographs. Prints and originals are individually hand coloured with watercolours and graphite pencils.

While Robert's work is generally classified as nature art, it isn't entirely typical. His illustrations often tell a story. An animal may be based in reality, while the clouds above it's head and the rocks below are creations of Robert's imagination.
